SCHIZOFONICS 24/7

I found out about these guys a few months ago and was really impressed with what i heard. Schizofonics are Shortie & M, two Dublin-based DJs/Producers bound together by the love of all things BASS!!!
DJing together for over 10 years, the lads put their heads together in 2008 and began to make some tunes. It was the success of their first remix, Mustard Pimp’s ‘Zombie’s Revenge’ that inspired them to keep the remixes coming and also to try their hand at some original production. (Schizofonics’ remix is featured on the official release of Zombie’s Revenge)
Their production style is as diverse as their DJ sets, taking inspiration from Electropop to Global Bass and everything in between. This eclectic sound is most evident on ‘Break Free’ their first original production. Half chord based vocal track and half murky bassline banger it’s a tune that’s as at home in the club as it is on your iPod.

Check out this new track they just sent over....

LOLLAPOOLZA 2009

Its Finally here!! While you can't really see it on this poster....the madness begins and ends at Perry's in the park. I'm not diggin the Killers or Tool....kinda interested in seeing Depeche Mode but thats it. Check out the stacked lineup @ Perry's : MSTRKRFT, Bassnectar, Crookers, Bloody Beetroots, Deadmau5, Boys Noize, Simian Mobile Disco, A Trak and many many more. It's like are own little WMC right here in Chicago. I can't wait.

On a side note, why in the world would they schedule Hard Summer 2009 on the same weekend as Lollapoolza?? Someone really fucked up there. I would have loved to have seen SebastiAn.

BOYS NOIZE!!!!!!!!

Not really sure why i haven't seen this all over the blog scene here in Chicago??? Boys Noize is gonna be here on Monday....yes you heard it right....BOYS NOIZE WILL BE HERE ON MONDAY!!!!!!! The Abbey Pub, doors open at 8pm and the show starts at 9pm. Tickets are only 15 bucks and you can grab em here : Boys Noize @ Abbey Pub March 23rd.

From the Reader : "Alex Ridha doesn’t get the credit he deserves, probably because everyone who should be acknowledging him is too busy ripping him off. When the Berlin-based DJ and producer, better known as Boys Noize, self-released his game-changing debut album, Oi Oi Oi, in 2007, the ripple effect was instant and audible: suddenly everyone from techno wizards to house heads to third-grade remixers was aping his blown-out steamroller synths. That stylistic trick makes his hooks seem like diffuse explosions—huge blooms of disco dance-floor perfection, hanging on lean, gorgeous songs that combine techno’s pristine chill with juicy electro-house jubilation. As a DJ, he’s capricious, masterful, fond of obscurities, and respectful of his listeners’ intelligence—not what you’d expect from a dude who’s a fixture in the bloghouse scene. You won’t hear this week’s most busted Kanye/Hot Chip remix; it’s gonna be techno veering toward electro, it’s gonna be German, and you are gonna love it. Don Rimini, Designer Drugs, Jack Beats, and Gatekeeper (DJ set) open." —Jessica Hopper
